We believe the best way to change the world starts with how you shop.

UpStream Zero Waste Shop & Refillery was born from a simple frustration: every trip to the store meant coming home with more plastic than groceries. We saw a gap in the Chattanooga Valley — a place where you could fill your pantry, your bathroom cabinet, and your cleaning supplies without a single disposable package.

Today, we're that place. Our shelves are stocked with over 100 refillable products — from pantry staples like rice, pasta, and nuts to liquid goods like dish soap, laundry detergent, and shampoo. Everything is yours to bring, fill, and reuse. No fancy equipment required. Just a container and a intention to do better.

Refilling at UpStream is easier than you think. Here's how it works — and why it matters more than you might realize.

Bring Your Container

Grab any clean jar, bottle, or bag from home — or pick one up at our shop. Glass, PET, or HDPE all work. No container? No problem; we have basics available.

Fill & Weigh

Pump, scoop, or pour your product into the container. We tare the weight of your empty container so you only pay for what you take home.

Go Home Waste-Free

Take your refill home, enjoy, and repeat. The container goes back in your cabinet, ready for the next trip. That's the cycle — and it keeps plastic out of landfills.
